Devin Gutierrez

NEW ALBUM out now on all streaming platforms!

Peripheral Vision is a collection of live performances from three different livestreams recorded in 2020 and 2021 at the East Austin Piano Shop by Collin Shook. The shows were produced and organized by the Music Moves Mountains Foundation. The album is a tasteful mix of acoustic and electric covers of Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, Carole King, and Ray Charles/Hoagy Carmichael, and features two originals by Devin as well as a bonus demo of a new song. 10 songs that showcase Devin's immense talents and range. The album was mixed and mastered by Devin as well.

Guests on the album include some of Austin’s most esteemed musicians: Chris Maresh, Nico Leophonte, Paul Deemer, and Collin Shook.

In 2019, The Music Moves Mountains Foundation teamed up with Devin and began to raise funds to support his music development via the All Abilities Rock program. Devin gained the attention of famed producer Lou Adler, Carole King, and James Taylor for his cover of "You've Got a Friend" for the MMMF.

The Music Moves Mountains Foundation is a perpetual series of projects, programs, and services utilizing the scientifically proven powers of music to change and improve the quality of lives. Visit www.musicmovesmountains.org.
Devin Gutierrez is a 22-year-old powerhouse singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, vocal coach, and disability rights activist based in Austin, Texas. He is on the Autism Spectrum and was born with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia which left him blind.

Music has always been his passion and lifeline, and he cites Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Donny Hathaway, and Ray Charles among some of his influences. It was at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired that he explored his gift of songwriting, arranging, and sound design. He also found his calling as a vocal coach and producer with a project called The Spinrockers.

While at TSBVI Devin began sitting in with Blue Mist, a local, legendary band consisting of alumni from the TSBVI. Many of those players are on his new album.

Since these live recordings, Devin has been working on new material.

In recent news: Over the summer, Devin was chosen to be featured in an upcoming film "Dead for a Dollar" (a period-piece Western by director Walter Hill) as a blind, saloon piano-player in a scene with Willem Dafoe. Slated for a 2022 release.
